Home for a few days, back Monday

Not going away anywhere, I just have some things to take care of at home. Like painting the kitchen, carpets, geysers, the patio and then I might just have some time to read a book, under a tree in the garden. Yipee, yay! see you Monday!

Hard against soft

I like the fact that the factory is softened by the great, green fields surrounding it.

Flown the nest

Robin's nest update. I took this picture on Sunday evening, the next morning the nest was empty.

Lunch with the whole family

My sister-in-law made this wonderful spread. Thanks for everything!

Movember 23rd

Update on the guys at the office. Some fell away, while others joined in.

The company is having a 21st birthday celebration and BP is making up some part of the presentation.
From BP: I need to get a good quality photo of each of you, 21 years ago. As well, I need all of you to answer the following question: what did you want to be when you were all grown up?

From me: 21 years ago I was 32, and floating down the Amazon. (Truth be told it was 20 years ago, but hey...) Although I had been working in advertising for 11 years by then MY DREAM was to be a wildlife photographer for National Geographic.

The party's tomorrow.

Wall poster

I made up this poster, 1800mm long, for a wall at home. It looks so lovely.

I'm a mess

I have this tag attached to my bag. I think it's fun – and because I'm shy it has been a bit of an icebreaker at outings and events. People stop to comment on it and so I am able to overcome the first hurdle in talking to total strangers.

What a beautiful book!

I enjoyed it so much. Did not know whether I should gobble it up quickly or savour it!

Consolation prize

I went to get a committment for a life together but came back with a jar of organic honey instead.
My heart was broken and I tried to stick it back together, first with masking tape then with super-glue. I raged at the universe, threw a tantrum before god. I couldn’t eat, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t smile, couldn’t laugh. Couldn’t talk about it. Couldn’t let it go. Couldn’t see what was in my blind spot – all the reasons why not!

This is all the honey that is left and I keep it to remind myself that I cannot bend anything to my will, that everything is at it should be. And I got the sweet deal, after all. And I thank the universe for this every other day.
There, I said it out loud, at last. Eight years later.

Takeaway – from home to work

Phyllo parcels and a greek salad. Delicious, even if I say so myself.

Vegetarian lunch

J&C invited me to lunch on Sunday and J made the MOST wonderful meal. A divine salad and a phyllo pastry tart with camembert, grapes and rosemary. Yum, yum.

Make a wish!

The Louis Vuitton window display is awesome! A snowflake made up of wishbones - quick, make a wish.

Come dine with me!

I have always wanted a mismatched dinner service so when I received a gift voucher this is what I decided to get! I love it! and I love that I didn't have to spend my own money. Thank you! Oh, and look it's not blue :-)

Patio revamp

Decided to make some changes on the patio. More to follow, still have to make up the table. Have only varnished the trestles so far.
