Egg warmer

I am serving eggs in these egg warmers with my starter on Easter Sunday lunch.

Easter egg hunt

I bought a bucket for each of the girls and once they have collected some of the eggs in the garden it should look like this.

Copycat

Bought the same vase, but in white, and made the same flowers, but in brown, for a friend's birthday.

Mr Buttons comes to stay

A gift from a friend. He's really just called Buttons but he perks up when you call him Mr Buttons :-)

Fresh flowers from Korea

I made some paper flowers for my new turquoise vase from Mr Price. Used pages from a Korean book.

Colours inspired by CitySpa

A friend did the interior of a spa in Amsterdam - I just love it. I'm introducing these colours in my bathroom. Mosaic table is the start. Check out the interior of CitySpa on this link: http://goo.gl/maps/beC7w

I love Ikea!

Cobus sent me these fabrics from Ikea - so, a cushion cover and a bag! Thanks.

Then and now

Recycled my Christmas paper chain decorations as curtains in the pantry.

C is for caterpillar, W is for worm

Tried to find a match on the internet so I could name him but failed. In the garden this morning.

Fun in the sun, yippee, yay!

My nieces entertained themselves and had fun all day. We all wish we had their energy. We are blessed to have such wonderful girls in our life.

Solo, the story of an African Wild Dog

Many years ago, maybe 20 or more, I bought this book for someone.
I was thinking about it just last week, wishing I had had opportunity to read it.
Some years back I started to look for it in second-hand and out-of-print bookstores, way before google search etc. The only copy I ever came across was a paperback for a gazillion rands. So on Saturday, at the book sale, the first box I look into, there it is - a hardcover copy, a little water damaged - OMW, serendipity.

Please be patient

I'm determined to get these Jasmine cuttings to sprout roots and once established I will plant it in the garden to replace its old and tired parent.
Yes, I could just buy a new plant, but will it teach me patience? Me thinks not!

Dark woman

I found a B/W photograph in a magazine of woman. The pic was dark, the woman's mood seemed dark, so I attempted to do a dark illustration of the photo, of the woman. I made it darker still, and sadder still. And even though I used guides the proportions are distorted and now she looks like someone who would commit dark deeds too.

The vision I had in my head of how it would look are not mirrored in the execution. Sorry, lady. Argh!

Cut it short

I went and had my hair cut on Sunday morning.
I had coloured it on Saturday afternoon but more needed to be done.

Last month I was at a shopping centre and saw a hair salon, looking all elegant and classy, and thought I would go in to book an appointment. As soon as I was inside I knew it was a mistake, and because I didn't know what to do I booked the appointment anyway, although I never pitched for it.
Every one of their hair stylist had dry, fizzy, unkept hair. Sorry, I judge a book by how it looks.

A quiet, relaxed weekend

They had a book sale at the Sandton Library, paperbacks for ZAR15. Hardcovers a little bit more. 5 books for ZAR110, absurd. Nice to be able to go to a store and touch the vegetables, feel their firmness or ripeness, rather than pick a perfect, cling-wrapped pack. PnP on William Nicol. Sewed a few tops. Tried to make a teddy bear, but he looks nothing like the picture :-) Flowers in bloom. As I said quiet. And uneventful.
