Offices you might like

Mike was contracted to do a shoot at the FB offices. I wanted to see the interior and so he let me tag along, I was to be his 'assistant'. We weren't allowed to post the images before the launch. I only took a few stills because I was carrying a video camera around the rest of the time. Nice time out of the office, fun to do something different. Like this page if you want ;-)

English breakfast at No. 5

So there are no images of the great English breakfast because we didn't want to share it. It was yummy - fried eggs and bacon, toast and marmalade, coffee.

Anyhoo, then we sat outside on the patio, chatting, enjoying the crisp winter morning.

Took some photographs and I said I was going to put them on my blog. Trish said it was fine, I said: they're my photographs, she said: it's my house. Fair enough.

Has legs

I found this shallow crate in the basement at work and bought some legs so that it would be a table. I painted it inside and out and used the inside for the table top. That way nothing will ever fall off. As always my lovely dog photo-bombed my picture.

Add bits and pieces to create an atmosphere. I've never used such strong colours before.

Patio revamp

Decided to make some changes on the patio. More to follow, still have to make up the table. Have only varnished the trestles so far.

All these paper butterflies are stuck on the ceiling at KAALKOP. I bought a few, sigh!

Not my best moment

ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO one of the editors from a decor magazine came to my house, I think it was for a treatment, and afterwards asked if they could do a feature of my house in their magazine. Of course I was flattered, wow! But the more I thought about it the more I worried that I would be judged (ag, shame, yes, pathetic) and that they would photograph my things and they wouldn’t look as great, that the reproduction onto paper would not do justice to my things, etc. I know - complete control freak. So, I phoned them and cancelled. To this day I still wonder how it would have looked. But I have moved on and am not so precious anymore. So if you want to come back... :-)
