My niece did this drawing for me. First she asked her father if you get blue roses and he said yes. Then the blue pen leaked and so the one rose smudged, but we rewrote the story - a stem of blue roses in a vase got caught in the draught and ruffled the petals on the largest rose.
The others are buds so they wouldn't be affected by the wind. What you can't see on the photograph is the the vase is metallic gold, classy, but what you can see is how thirsty that plant is, there is hardly any water left in the vase.
I just love the drawing. I framed it and hung it on the wall.

Hand-drawn cereal bowls for Easter
A few weeks ago I got the children to draw on these cereal bowls, anything they wanted. I wrapped them up with some eggs and other goodies and so for Easter they received them back as their gift ;-)

Inkwell project
Exciting news! My friend is selling her one-of-a-kind, hand-illustrated
mugs, tea cups and ceramic things! Come through to Norwood Day Pop Up
Market on the 15th Feb.
She asked me to do a set of cups and saucers but I don't think my stuff is quite up to her standards ;-) I'll be at the market buying back my own designs if no one else does. Please support her, look out for INKWELL at the market.

Hand-drawn plates
My mother gave me a dinner service when I moved into my first home 31 years ago. Of the dinner plates only 4 of the 6 have survived, but they have developed fine, hairline cracks so you can't really serve food on them anymore. I didn't want to throw or give them away for sentimental reasons, so when Nikki started decorating plates I thought: What a great idea! Thanks Nikki for the inspiration. I still have to bake them to seal in the ink.

4 of 1000 drawings
So these are my four entires. Two of which you've seen already. No, it's so not about entering your best drawing and winning, its participating in an event that generates monies for charity.
If it were a drawing competition I would not be entering ;-) http://www.1000drawings.co.za

2 of 1000 drawings
Ha, ha, no, I am not doing 1000 drawings. I'm entering some drawings into the 1000 Drawings event. These are the first two, I think I'll do 2 more. I've had these die-cut boards for the past year and at last found a use for them. http://www.1000drawings.co.za
