I made these bracelets, so easy. I like them, they're so me. Eeuuuw, look at that old skin, ha, ha!

Plop!
I have been watching Venus and Jupiter growing apart little by little every night. Then last night, plop, the moon appears between them.
Hausmaus
Hausmaus: a mouse who wants to stay in her house.
This past weekend I stayed home and worked in the garden. We sawed off the branches, chopped out trees, cut back every shrub. By Sunday morning at 11 I was so exhausted I had a bath and went to bed, slept for about an hour. I dug up a kaftan I had bought at the market from a West African gentleman years ago, wore it (I know, shock, horror, who would admit it) while I watched DVD all Sunday afternoon. Bliss.

A stitch becomes a shape
becomes a ...
These shapes are going to join together to make the most wonderful birthday present. You may ask how it that possible, just wait and see.

I love the colour...
...of aubergine. And then the packaging enhances the richness of colour of the vegetable, all shiny and new! At college I illustrated the aubergine and used every shade of purple in my pencil box, I think there were 16.

Black candyfloss sky
Years ago after driving home from my father's I drew this pic, its very naive and fun.
Often when I see the dark clouds hanging overhead I think back to that moment.

The censored word refers to the black sweets that have a liquorice flavour, that we used to eat as children.

Sky-land-sea
The same piece of artwork - it can either be sky and land, or land and sea. Anyway it was fun to do before going to work this morning.

Ohgaarh! Wehawwehaa! Hcccccccccccgh!
I found these stamps I bought 2 years ago. Dinosaurs printed in 3D, like them movies. WOW!
Forgive me if I've place this before, I really don't remember, it's the age thing. A wicked thing.

Bumper crop
We have had less rain this summer but my fruit trees are delivering a bumper crop. Thank you. Lemon curd and lemonade coming up!
I can never harvest the guavas - the birds eat them while they're still green.

Hey, is no one listening
I got up early this morning to bake giant scones for the homeless that beg on the side of the road. Hello, the universe, what happened? All the lights were green and the homeless weren't there. I have packets of scones in my car for the needy, it smells delicious. Let's see what happens at lunchtime. Work with me here, guys!

A light but good read
page 2: Dad liked to say that school was the last place where anyone could get an education.
page 3: Normally he, Mum and Dad would have Earl Grey in a pot, crumpets soggy with butter - ‘I love a bit of crumpet in the afternoon,’ Dad would always say, a remark that could only have hastened his departure...
page 4: ‘I will explain everything later,’ he said, as he always did when he intended to say nothing.
page 5: ‘At night even the most conservative of us becomes an avant gardist,’ his mother had said. Gabriel had been very interested in this. ‘I want to be an avant gardist all the time,’ he said. ‘That’s why they have schools,’ said his father. ‘To stamp out that kind of thing.’
page 15: ...and whisperingly busied about with such secret urgency, labouring at the most desirable alchemy known to mankind: how to earn money without getting a job.
page 26: ...only left the pub to attend AA meetings.
page 57: He’s not a fool - he has always known that fame is a handful of foam.
page 147: She ran out into the street after him, pleading. From the window Gabriel watched George shake her off, like someone shooing away a dog trying to bite them.

Friday lunch, let's pretend it's already the weekend
We went early, so maybe that's why it was so empty, but who cares, the food was great! I'm not a fan of onion rings but these were very moreish. The pepper sauce was real, peppercorns and cream - lick your lips!
