Daisy, daisy....

These sweets collected at the bottom of the bowl to form the perfect daisy :D

Coloured eggs

My brother coloured these eggs for me, for Easter (what else), like my mother used to do for us. Is was so special.

Easter Egg Hunt

I made these 'eggs', put marshmallow eggs and chocolate bunnies inside, hung them in the garden for the girls to find.
Absolute glee at finding another one, wow!

Established 1902

A colleague and I were chatting about sewing and knitting and she mentioned a name from the past - Arthur Bales - established in 1902, and still going strong in Linden, Johannesburg. I popped in there on Saturday morning and I honestly could have bought metres and metres of material for beauty's sake. But I didn't :D. They have the most stunning Kaffe Fasset fabric, wonderful designs. I kept to what I needed to get, but will be going back.

Gift for Easter!

Most beautiful colour! From a client.

Wedding anniversary

6 April would have been my parent's 55th wedding anniversary. Sadly, they are no longer with us. I have the bead work that was on my mother's veil. And the jacket from my father's suit he wore.
Years later my mother separated the bodice from the skirt of her wedding dress, dyed it red after removing the sleeves. She dyed the skirt black, took up the hem, and sewed them back together again. Then went to a fancy dress party - Fasching - as a flamenco dancer.

You go your way, I'll go mine

No plants were cut or harmed in the taking of this image, they continue to grow in the garden.
