How to eat a radish

I get so frustrated when I see radishes only used as 4 thin slices in a salad. At home my father used to grow them. In the late afternoon he would prepare them so we could eat them that evening.

So either use the 'twirly-whirly' cutter or if you don't have one cut the radish in slices but not all the way through. Then sprinkle a generous amount of salt over it. Let it sweat. This removes the bite without destroying the peppery flavour of the radish. Can't stop eating until they are all finished, delicious.

I bought these radishes at the Fourways Farmer's Market. They came with a free packet of seeds, which, I am happy to say, are doing very well.
