Christmas cookies
Just some nice plain ones for the girls. I don't think they'd enjoy the spicy ones.
Chocolate is always a winner.
The poor little men got cooked.
Homemade Pfeffernüsse. Stored, just waiting for our guests.

On the other side of the world

White on white
The tree outside is decorated. I had to keep it to the decorations that would withstand rain, hail and wind.
My waiter's name was Blessing!

Advent, Advent...
Advent, Advent, ein Lichtlein brennt! Erst eins, dann zwei, dann drei, dann vier,
dann steht das Christkind vor der Tür!
African Mud
I painted the walls around my fireplace the same colour as my bathroom – African Mud.
Will be painting the other walls soon, so I'll post an update as soon as it's done.

UPDATE: What did I do for you today?
To refresh your memory: The guys in the office feel that my deeds go unnoticed, so they have created this poster. LOL:-) I only need 3 more deeds before the end of the year and I'm a winner!
Christmas break
Ah yes, the Christmas break – that awesome time when you make plans and then don’t follow through with them, no regret. When you can’t wait to read those books, but nap instead. When you buy the paint for the kitchen but then just draw daisies in the sand. When you meet friends for a quick lunch that takes all afternoon. When you laugh and smile and talk to strangers. When you have a cold, cold drink in the hot, hot sun. When you look up at the stars again and make a wish. When you believe in dreams and miracles and kindness again. When you swim for pure enjoyment and not to burn calories. When being with family rejuvenates body and soul. When a kiss from your lover lingers all day long. When you let go of every disappointment you’ve inflicted upon yourself. When you have the time to let that chocolate dissolve in your mouth, with your eyes closed. When being naked is natural, and clothes are for public outings. When you say yes to everything that is unfamiliar. When lemon creams, ice cream and coke-cola is a meal. When doing the dishes is optional. When you embrace every moment of this most anticipated time, and understand what living in the moment is about.

Show and tell
At the Goethe-Institut, Johannesburg. I love blackboards, nothing is permanent and it's easy to move onto something new.
Card carrying member
After years of just driving past and thinking: I must go in and have a look. Eventually, one Saturday I did a u-turn and went back and went inside, and joined their library. The Goethe-Institut. They have a great selection of design books, which is the real reason I signed up. But it's great to just sit there, in that quiet space and just let yourself settle into a calmer state.
