A drop of rain

It rained last night and this morning these perfect drops were scattered across the plants.

Pot holder

I tore material into strips and crocheted a potholder. It's lined with felt.

Three bags full

I finished off these 3 bags that I had started earlier this year. Its hard to return to unfinished projects ;-)
The third bag is nice but very 'lomp' so the picture is not that great. Actually, if truth be told, I didn't spend enough time to get it right. Sorry.

Hope is the thing with feathers

I found these feathers in the garden and wanted to use Woody Allen's quote but then discovered he had borrowed from Emily Dickinson. I found I liked her original quote more.

Christmas table decoration kit box

I am sending a box of Christmas decoration to my brother because they won't be joining us this year. My theme this year is au naturel, using mostly things I have picked up in my garden or at the park.

35 days to go

Only 35 days to Christmas so it's time to think about the decorations. Made these twirly, whirly, dangly things last night.

Happily ever after

When we arrived the wedding was long gone and over but there were still 2 or 3 decorations hanging up. I took them home. Whoever you are, I wish you a wonderful life together. M'wah!

Peek-a-boo!

Lizard basking in the sun. Look at the middle image, with the head just popping out, and then I tried to get him in his 'lair' but he kept moving deeper and deeper.

Buy art for charity

These are the 4 drawings I bought at the Night of a 1000 Drawings. Proceeds go to charity.

Night of 1000 Drawings

So much great work. I didn't get all the ones I wanted. But I bought 4 – remember its for charity. 3 of my 4 drawings were sold by the time I left. Hurray!

Silly billies

Like father, like daughter. So sweet!

Sunday lunch had an Indian theme

Since it was Diwali this weekend I decided my Sunday lunch would be Indian cuisine, or an adaption thereof ;-) Starter: Onion Bhajis with dipping sauce and baby potatoes with a chilli bite batter. Main: Butter chicken, brown basmati rice, roti, poppadoms and sambals. Dessert: Peanut butter ice cream, rose syrup and nigella seed ice cream, pistachio and litchi. Tea: Khajur aur anjeer ladoo (date and fig balls). I enjoyed trying something different and luckily it was a big hit.
Thanks to the girls at the office for recipe ideas and suggestions. Happy Diwali to you!

Sharpen that pencil

In an act of love I sharpened all my colour pencils for the girls.
Most of these colour pencils are from my college days, the late 1070's - yes, laugh all you want ;-)
On some of them the wood is so brittle and dry it just crumbles when you try to sharpen them. The cheaper pencils have better longevity, hmm...

Can't wait to get going

From a pumpkin that has been drying out since last summer we gathered the seeds and planted them on the sidewalk, but the few that were left over in the pot just got started on their own after the rain. I took pity on them and planted them in the garden - they seem very keen ;-)
