Bonus!

I was wondering why the sleeves on my new hoodie were so long, when, hey presto, I discover they extend to fingerless gloves - cool idea!

Contexturise

New works by South Africa's leading fibre and textile artists.

I am only showing detail/close-ups of the artwork because the WOW is in the detail.

Appreciation of old things

At the Johannesburg City Library 3 things made me very happy.
1. They have retained all the old wooden furniture and fittings.
2. It was full of young people, I assume students.
3. Silence.

China stamp

I love this stamp - I would love it as a large artwork on my wall at home.

Weekend read

page 9: I am forty-seven years old and a university lecturer, but my sister’s voice reduces me instantly to a bogey-nosed four-year-old.

page 24: So Mother’s little legacy stayed in the bank, and after that my sister and I didn’t talk to each other for two years, until a common enemy brought us together.

page 67:(‘Just imagine, Nadia, these English people will spend one hundred pound to save the life of a cat or dog that can be picked up in street for nothing. Such foolish kind hearts!’)

page 78: The heavy weight of all the unsaid things bears down on us like storm clouds.
