Bags for sale!
I sew things up and then I don't know what to do with them, So don't be surprised if you get one as a gift.
Reduce, reuse, recycle!
Come on guys, please recycle. It's so easy, and will make a difference.
This is how much stuff, I alone, generate over a month that can be recycled.

On top of the bird tree
All kinds of birds land on top of this tree. There's always something different. At night the owl calls from the top: whoo, whoo. whoo, whoo. Wonderful!
Cute, but not loved by dogs
This guy and his 47 offspring, when they escape and chomp grass in the street, drive the dogs crazy. Because they can't get to them, they bark all day long, argh!

Inspired and tired
On Saturday I did as many art galleries as I could. Eventually I was so tired I went to Die Boekehuis, had coffee and carrot cake. I also bought a lot of books.
William Boshoff's exhibition was awesome. The curator gave us such a nice tour. His Tree Walk took my breath away.
Lionel Smit's work is wonderful in real life, a wow!
It was a great day!

Late afternoon
The dogs lie close by
one to the left, one on the right
the other at my feet
I look up at the space between the trees
and try to mix the colour
with paints and pigments in my mind
the hadeda drinks quietly at the bowl
a slight movement gets him noticed
the doves flutter in the trees
trying to keep their balance
in pairs, the white-eyes explore the shrubs
now a thrush bathes in the water bowl
all the planes leaving the airport
choose the same path north
an adventure for some, business for others
a mosquito screams in my ear
giving me ample warning
then strikes – shoulder, hand, thigh
the swallows are performing a ballet
way up high
it's so beautiful that you believe
you can heard the music
a car speeds by
a group of ladies walk
past my wall and laugh
my dog barks: quiet, please
the colour of the sky is changing
like magic – although I'm watching
I don't see it happening
a black-collared barbet comes to show
us a bright green thing in his beak
a butterfly flutters by
three spitfires fly in formation
two side-by-side, the other behind
the dogs wander inside
and settle in their baskets
the bats are out and about
there's a lot of traffic now
but I hear only the birds
saying good night, sleep tight
that plop sound is the frog
getting into the pool
so clumsy on land, hop, hop
such a graceful swimmer
ah, there – the evening star.

You must read the quote from page 213
page 84: '...be careful with it, Alb it's valuable.'
'You said you made it yourself.'
'You don't have to pay money for something for it to be valuable.'
page 186: In the kitchen, a skinny woman fed a breezeblock of cheese into an industrial grater, producing a blonde wig in the bowl below.
page 213: 'I'm married,' he said, from between her thighs. 'I have a wife.'

luck and wisdom
Apparently, you must rub his nose for lucky, or his hand for wisdom. You can't rub both, then you get nothing!
"While you hurry, or while you wait, it's all the same to fate."
I don't remember where I read this, but it's not my bit of wisdom.

Use your imagination
What do you see in the shapes?
I see: 1 - tulips, reaching for the sky, 2 - dragon spitting fire, 3 - bird in flight, 4 - catfish.
Return to NIROX
But they weren't open. It's a beautiful sculpture park, in the Cradle of Humankind. Phone ahead next time to see if they are open!
